Rhonda Lucas-Sabater, M.Ed., AMI 3-6 Auxiliary Trainer
Rhonda began her Montessori journey as a parent and later decided to take the training to become a Montessori guide. She did her Primary (2006) and Elementary (2004) training at the Washington Montessori Institute Loyola University in Maryland, obtaining her master’s degree in Education. She took the AMI Assistants to Infancy (2007) training at The Montessori Institute in Denver and the AMI Orientation to Adolescence (2014) at the Hershey Farm School in Ohio. Over the course of her career, she worked as an Elementary guide, a Primary guide, and an Assistants to Infancy guide. She is also trained in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at the 3-6 level.
Rhonda is the co-founder of a public charter Montessori school in Washington, DC where she served as the principal for three years. She is also a founding partner at Nsoroma Montessori Consulting, providing coaching, classes and workshops for parents and Montessori professionals as well as pioneering a Montessori Kindezi (babysitting) class for teenagers and young adults. As a mother of five, Rhonda brings her passion for children and commitment to authentic Montessori practice and the spiritual development of the child to her mission of helping Montessori become a household name around the world. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and doing arts and crafts.

J McKeever, Director of Elementary Training
J. McKeever, AMI Trainer, is delighted to return to Atlanta’s vibrant Montessori community and to renew her role as Director of Elementary Training for Montessori Institute of Atlanta. She is especially excited to be part of this organization as it continues its service from a new permanent ‘home’ in metro-Atlanta. Ms. McKeever holds diplomas from the Association Montessori Internationale for Children’s House and Elementary levels, and has many years’ experience working with elementary children and directing elementary training courses.
Ms. McKeever is a past board member of the Elementary Alumni Association (AMI-EAA), and is an AMI examiner and school consultant at the Elementary level. She has presented workshops to teachers, parents, and administrators in the United States and internationally on a variety of Montessori topics. She has trained teachers in Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Montpellier, France. She is honored to have been the first AMI elementary trainer to present workshops and elementary assistants courses in China. Ms. McKeever holds a B.A. in English, M.A. in Educational Processes, and a secondary level teaching credential. She is an adjunct faculty member of Loyola University Maryland.

Lilian Bryan, MIA Founder Emeritus and AMI Senior Trainer
Lilian Bryan’s expertise with children and adults ranges across two levels of Montessori education: 3-6 and 0-3 years. She holds the title of Founder-Trainer Emeritus of Montessori Institute of Atlanta, where she trained teachers for 37 years. In addition, Ms. Bryan has directed training courses in other US cities as well as in Switzerland, Austria, and South Africa. She has presented workshops to teachers and parents in a number of countries throughout the world. Ms. Bryan serves as an official AMI Consultant for schools in the USA and abroad and is an AMI Examiner.
We are delighted that she is part of MIA once again, and willing to share her spirit and expertise with this fortunate group of trainees. Lilian will be providing support to the Primary training starting in June 2022.

Phyllis Pottish-Lewis, Elementary Guest Trainer/Lecturer
Phyllis Pottish-Lewis, AMI Elementary trainer, examiner, and school consultant, has directed AMI-elementary training courses in California and Minnesota. She has been a guest lecturer for elementary training courses for many years. Ms. Pottish-Lewis holds AMI Primary and Elementary diplomas, a B.S. in Zoology, and M.Ed. Ms. Pottish-Lewis is a former board member of AMI-EAA. She also has presented a number of workshops and refresher courses both nationally and internationally. She has a wealth of elementary classroom experience. We are happy to welcome her back to Atlanta as a visiting lecturer.
Additional Montessori lecturers may be invited to participate on the course at the discretion of the Director of Training.
