Optional Graduate Programs
A Masters of Education in Montessori education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education (CASE) are options for those pursuing an AMI Primary or Elementary diploma. Loyola University Maryland (located near Baltimore) recognizes Montessori Institute of Atlanta as an affiliate institute. The Montessori training course is equivalent to 27 of 36 graduate credits required for the Loyola Masters of Education or a CASE. Upon graduation from MIA, one can take the three additional courses in Baltimore over a 3-4 week summer. Two additional research papers are typically completed by October of the next school year, but students have up to 5 years to complete the program. (However, it is not a retroactive degree.) Student loans are available through the Graduate School office of Loyola University Maryland for those who are enrolled in the graduate degree program. Details on requirements for admissions and tuition information are available upon request.
